FREY Liberty ULTRA – CC FAT TIRE
Original price was: $5,180.00.$4,680.00Current price is: $4,680.00.
The Liberty ULTRA – CC FAT is the latest evolution of FREY Bike’s popular CC model. What started out as a full-suspension commuter electric bike gained fat tires earlier this year to turn into a dual-use commuter and trail bike. But this is no ordinary full-suspension fat-tire bike. Instead, it comes loaded with high-quality parts and a ridiculously powerful motor.
The Liberty ULTRA – CC FAT tire
This is the manufacturer’s variation of its step-through Savannah ULTRA – CC bike, a versatile commuter electric bike with full suspension. The CC Fat tire keeps the successful design and the full suspension but adds 26”x4” Maxxis fat tires to the mix, to make the ebike more capable of handling any trail and terrain.
What makes Frey stand out is the fact that it doesn’t skimp on premium parts with its bikes, even though you can get them for even half the price of high-end, European, or American-made electric bicycles. So it is only natural for the CC Fat to keep the tradition going. Frey equipped the two-wheeler with Magura MT5e 4-piston brakes, a Shimano Alivio 9-speed drivetrain, a RockShox Monarch RL shock in the rear, and an air suspension fork with 140 mm of travel in the front.
The CC Fat tire was designed to keep riders as comfortable as possible in the saddle and for as long as possible, regardless of whether they’re using the bike for hunting in snowy forests, cruising on beaches, or on bumpy trails.
Comfort is only one big selling point of this wheeler, with the CC Fat tire offering more than just smooth rides. It is also a powerful bike, equipped with one of the most popular electric bike mid-drive motors on the market, the Bafang Ultra M620, which delivers 1,000W of continuous power, a peak power of no less than 1,500W, and a maximum torque of 160 Nm.
Paired with a downtube-integrated 48V/21Ah/1,008Wh battery, the CC Fat boasts of offering up to 100 miles (160 km) of fun on a charge when riding it in a lower power setting and if you want to use it on its max power setting, you can still squeeze up to 30 miles (51 km) per charge.
This electric bike has it all: full suspension, powerful mid-motor, top components, and good looks!

FREY Liberty ULTRA – CC FAT TIRE
The Best Name Brand Components
Testing the highest-quality full-suspension fat-tire electric bike I’ve ever tried
This is no ordinary full-suspension fat-tire bike. Instead, it comes loaded with high-quality parts and a ridiculously powerful motor.
We’ve seen plenty of fat-tire full-suspension e-bikes before. The FREY CC Fat is nothing like those other e-bikes, the FREY CC Fat is a high-end e-bike that brings comfort riding to the trails with the proper parts to match.
Comfort meets power, meets quality!
FREY’s reputation precedes it, with the brand being known for building quality full-suspension electric bikes that rival those from big-name companies, yet at half the price.
They use Bafang M620 mid-drive motors, which are rated at 1,000W continuous power but actually peak closer to 1,500W of power.
That means that the bikes can climb like a billy goat. When they aren’t using that incredible power and torque (peaking at 160 Nm) for climbing, they’re using it to go fast. I’ve hit as much as 36 mph (59 km/h) with this motor, though the bikes come limited to street-legal settings that can be modified in the color LCD display.
The mid-drive motor with its torque sensor makes for a great pedaling experience, which isn’t the case on many fat-tire e-bikes that are basically light electric motorcycles with pedals. You can actually have a great experience pedaling the FREY CC Fat, making it both a powerful e-bike for ripping around on trails and a good exercise/fitness e-bike when you want to take it slower and keep it in a low-power mode.
As a commuter bike, the FREY CC Fat’s fast top speed on throttle or pedal assist is a big part of its safety, meaning you can take the lane and keep up with city traffic.
When you’re on the trails, the power helps overcome obstacles and climb steep terrain. I rarely get going much faster than 25 mph (40 km/h) or so off-road on the Frey CC Fat simply because it’s hard to get going that fast on rough, twisty terrain. The few times I can find a straight stretch of trail to do it sure results in a fun ride, but you also have to be mindful of whether you’re sharing the trails with other people, especially on multi-use trails.
The high-end RockShox suspension comes into play when you do take the bike up to higher speeds and hit obstacles like roots and potholes. Between the fat tires and the full suspension, you’re going to be able to hit rougher trails and roads at higher speeds than you could on other e-bikes.
The suspension is also a big part of the bike’s comfort, though that’s also due to the geometry. Because the FREY CC was originally designed for commuting, it’s a much more upright ride than FREY’s more mountain-focused e-bikes. I actually prefer a more upright ride and so the FREY CC Fat feels like a nice compromise to me. It’s upright enough to enjoy recreationally but still gives you good control when you do hit the trails.
It’s more of a rails-to-trails nature ride type of e-bike. It’s something you can cruise the bike lane with in the city, hop into the car lane in the suburbs, and then hit the nature trails at your local trailhead.
With plenty of range from a 48V 21Ah battery to 1,008 Wh of capacity, the bike has what it takes to manage the trails or the streets.
It’s a well-made, high-quality e-bike with excellent components.
All in all, I’m super impressed with this e-bike. I could have appreciated a fender set or a rear rack, but both can be tricky on full-suspension fat-tire e-bikes. But the bike is still a blast to ride. It’s got the power and speed of a light electric motorcycle yet in a fun-to-pedal electric bike. The FREY CC Fat may be expensive, but it’s worth the price. In fact, I’d say it’s worth even more.

The CC Fat was an awesome choice. I’d look at a lot of other bikes, but chose the Frey CC and I am so glad that it is the one I picked. I love it. It does everything that I ask it to do I would highly recommend it to other riders.

We live in a very hilly area, and I wasn’t riding my old mountain bike since we moved here, due to the difficulty of my aging bones. The CC has the power to help me up the tough inclines so I can go farther and explore the area more. The disc brakes get heavy use on the downhills. There’s a trail with brick-sized cobbles that are brutal but with the full suspension and fat tires, it is no problem. Love this bike!most wheels, but the Rover’s fat tires help immensely. Compared to similar powered eBikes, it was a great value. I’m very happy with it.

The bike is very solid and comfortable. Having ridden a few bikes I realized that having rear suspension is a must. I am 6’ 4” and 78 years and I am really enjoying the ride.

1st ride impressions. I had high expectations for this bike. It did not disappoint. It met and exceeded what I was hoping for. Worth every penny and the wait to get it. Fantastic bike for just getting out and exploring nature. Plus it rips when you want it to. Well done FreyBike!

Not one issue with 90 days of daily riding. Love this bike! Freezing rain over new years followed by cold temps and a skim of fresh snow on top made for a magical afternoon. No trails required. I could ride anywhere I wanted to go. Amazing and once a in a rare opportunity riding today. I will be at it again in the morning.

My wife and I purchased two CC FAT bikes and she was a little hesitant about the size because she thought it looked like a big bike. It took her one trip around the neighborhood to say “I LOVE these new bikes”. We recently took them camping and rode them “off road” on various trails and had a blast. We take them when we are in the RV to use to get around the areas we stay at instead of renting a golf cart. We are most impressed with the quality build of the bikes and look forward to many adventures to come! You will NOT be disappointed in these bikes!

Bought 2, moved to an area with Hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails, just retired, my wife and I have never been this entertained. bike does anything you ask of it. Trouble free riding though the woods trails, it’s electric 4 or 5 hours still have 3/4 of battery left. Just passed 1700 miles. Can’t do that with a conventional bike. No strain game changer!
